Felix Wilson Residency

Felix Wilson: This residency is an ongoing experiment in duration. I visited only for a few days at first, spending time in the quarry, gathering materials and getting a feel for the place. Some people see a site of damage and reckless extraction but I think quarrying creates more than it destroys. The new place, the concave scraping at the very outer edge of the solid earth offers us a lot, if we can find our way to seeing it. The vessels I made were a gesture toward this. As I return to see them changed by water, lichen, frost, and wind I hope the repeated attention reveals something in the place, a hallowing or a transient beauty becoming more apparent.
